Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is well. I recently gained admission into TWU WHNP program for fall 2014, and was curious to see who else is currently in the program or will be starting this program in the fall. I am so excited to be starting this wonderful journey. Also who all will be attending orientation on July 14th. I would love to meet you guys.

You don't have to be going to WH Track to response. All tracks and responses are welcome :)

Thank you.

Good luck, I am only starting to search out online programs now but TWU-Denton and Frontier are at the top for me. I may have to follow your post!

Great!! When are you thinking about starting? And have you applied?

I have not applied, I would have to take a MAT exam. I could easily apply by the Sept. 15 deadline and I probably will. Which campus are you at, if you don't mind sharing?

Not at all. Im at the dallas campus. I took the GRE so i don't know much about MAT. Are you interested in the WHNP program?

Yes, WHNP is the program I am interested in. I am worried about my GPA at this point. It is a 3.27 and from what I have seen on this forum that is not near the acceptable range for TWU. Now I am wondering if I want to spend money to take the MAT and pay for application if my GPA isn't high enough.

I think you will be considered even with a GPA 3.0 and > Is this your last 60 or overall GPA?

That is from the last 60. Overall GPA is terrible, those first years of college I wasn't a good student. Anyway, since I have a prior BS if I am understanding correctly from the TWU website they will only go off my science classes/ pre-reqs for GPA? I really need to call and talk to them, I can't use the converter on their website because my classes are from Oklahoma schools. I wish I could just email my transcripts to them instead of taking time off of work to drive down there. Oh well . . .

Any how, I am worried because other threads have stated that you have to have a 3.7 or close it because that is the average GPA of students that get into TWU. I'm not sure which programs those threads were talking about though. I'm probably reading too many!

I say never give up. It took me 2yrs to program. Take the GRE or MAT, there is no minimum requirement. and your last 60 is what they look at anyway so you should be good to go.

Oh awesome. Thanks for the encouragement. I think I will try to find an email address and email my transcript to them.

Hey, I was recently accepted as well into the WHNP program - have you gotten information/details about the orientation July 14th? I haven't gotten anything in the mail and was wondering if anyone else had not either - or if it was just me?

Hey aggie2011

I am sooo sorry for the late response. Please forgive me. I went to the orientation, bought my books and is ready for school to start. How are you preparing? I'm excited and nervous at the same time.
