Hi,

My Maternity Unit has one active OR. The main OR has three active ORs. If I have more than one scheduled VBAC, am I required to have 2 opened ORs? My policy does not deal with mutliple VBACs.

Thanks,

More info is needed. Seems like your bosses should be answering this question. What is done now? What is your staffing like? Anesthesia? Surgeons? Recovery personnel? Etc.

HI,

Staffing, surgeon, anesthesiologist are not problems. All available. Our policy is to have to OR readily available for a VBAC. My questsion is do I need two ORs readily available?

Thanks,

Not at our hospital. I would not be able to answer the question as to whether your hospital would require it.
