I'm sitting here anxiously awaiting to hear from TVCC to see if I was accepted into the nursing program. So for those of you already in the program how did you handle the seemingly looonnng wait from Jan 31st to the middle of March? It's driving me crazy! Is there anyone else out there waiting to hear from TVCC?

This site is wonderful! I can hardly stop reading allnurses.com (have to force myself to get up and do something else).

Thanks,

ICAN!

Was anyone else overwhelmed at orientation? Anyone taking nursing math in july? I decided not to take 1119, nervous about that......does anyone have advice for me on that note?

I was a little overwhelmed at the amount of books we have to buy. I know that the school gets a discount when buying in bulk so I hope they are giving us a good price. Can't believe we have to buy two years worth of books at one time.

That's great that you do not have to take the 1119 class, wish I didn't have to. Be sure and get your paperwork in order so they will give you credit for the class. I am taking the nursing math; there were lots of people signing up for it.

I'm taking both the 1119 class and the nursing math; I need both for certain.

The books, the books, the books. Has anyone else looked them up online? I looked a few of them up and everything I saw was priced well over $100 and that was the used price. I really hope they are going to be passing on a good deal to us. I only budgeted $1100 for the books. I really can't tighten my belt anymore.

I'm going to talk about getting my financial aid adjusted so that they can make the payments work with the program.

i ALSO SIGNED UP FOR THE NURSING MATH 9-11, ANYONE ELSE

I dont know if the book list has changed from last year but the most important books to buy right now are; Lewis, Harkreader, Estes, those 3 are the most imporant for your first semester..if you can buy all of them great...as far as the math class is concerned if you have the time to take it definitely do it, it will help alot and you will also be one step ahead, which you will learn is very important...go up to the school and look to see if anyone from the graduating class has posted there books on the board by the water fountain downstairs, and upstairs in the lounge...

Thanks very much for that information. I think we were told that many of our books are new editions, can't remember for sure about that. I wish they would divide up the books by semester.

Can you tell me what is in the Nursing Skills Lab Kit?

Thanks again!
