Turn down UC hospital - New Grad RN

I got a job offer at a UC hospital and already signed/done drug test. I moved about 400 miles away from the famlly and will be living alone. My family came very against me working there at the last minute realizing the city and the surrounding area being very unsafe (very high crime rate), tons of homeless and drug users. I have to turn it down because I cannot let my family worry about my safety for the next 2 years. I have another job offer at a very safe neighborhood. This is the biggest reason why my family wants me to switch jobs.

Will I be put into "do not rehire list" for entire UC heath system?? My job has not started and I have not attended any orientation yet. Please help. I do not mean to be so inconsiderate but I really cannot endanger my own life nor cause anymore family conflicts.

Ask them if it would. Then you know what you're working with. If you're gonna quit before you've started no matter what, then it doesn't matter.
