Trying to get BSN after BA , No$$

Published

Anyone know of good loans/ scholarships/ grants for Nursing , specifically public health nursing that you can apply for after completing another degree?.

I had failed clinical at 19 ( was more about corruption than anything I did or didn't do ) . The situation made me so anxious and upset that my stomach turned at the idea of going back to nursing school .

I have my MPH, however there are so few opportunities in prevention, case management , health care management etc etc without an RN.

I've applied for loans but I am denied over and over again.. I need 50,000 because the BA to BSN program in my area does not allow you to work while in it and there are no part time programs so that I can work .

Has anyone found fund me pages that allow you to provide promissory notes to investors ? Nursing positions by me pay twice as much as I currently make( So I'd be able to pay it back my first year of working) Any possible solutions are much appreciated!

When you say that you've been denied for loans, is that in reference to fed student loans or private loans?

Have you tried looking into the costs of an ADN program in your area? It may take longer to go this route (assuming you probably need the BSN for public health RN positions, but maybe not.), but these programs tend to be much cheaper. In my area it's around $11K total cost for an ADN program. Might be easier to be approved for the smaller loan or to save up the amount. Then you can hopefully work as an RN while working on your BSN.

It sounds like it would be best if you went the ADN route, or maybe even LPN and bridge. You're most likely going to have to explore these avenues instead of going the more expensive route.
