Trump’s assault on Postal Service and voting is a plot against American democracy | Editorial
QuoteOn Thursday morning, after months of attacks on the United States Postal Service and vote-by-mail, President Donald Trump admitted that the two efforts are connected as a part of one voter disenfranchisement effort. In a Fox Business Network interview, Trump said that the sticking point for him in the negotiations over a new coronavirus economic relief package is Post Office funding: “If we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money. That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting. They just can’t have it.”
In PA, once you request a mail in/absentee ballot, your name is removed from in-person voting list. You can submit paper ballot at local polling location day of election if not mailed in earlier. PA does not have in person early voting, just 11/3/2020.
I've decided to vote in person as polling location just 5 blocks away so vote will be counted that night IF our new scanner system works.
Funny how the post office never seems to have these problems during tax time. The government makes sure post offices have everything they need to get our money. This is some new nonsense and there is no excuse for it. I need them to have that same energy next tax season.

Barr said the same thing and he should definitely know better. Meanwhile, there are people who were charged for unknowingly voting when they lost voting privileges due to criminal backgrounds or what have you. Now Trump and Barr are telling people to violate voting laws. I don't get it.

I don't know about that, many I see on FB squawking about issues there as well, it's why many have chosen to go electronic. You get verification through email etc. I just feel like vote by mail if you wish, vote in person if you wish, use absentee ballot, or on time. But please don't not vote. Every level and every vote matters, from school board to president, as they all have an effect on daily life

The system is set up for a voter to do one or the other - can't do both. Can't believe that the President (and Barr) don't know that we have a law against that. Where I live print-outs are delivered every 2 hours with the ballots of the voters in that printout. If they voted upstairs in person, their name is deleted from the list but that never happened in the room in which I was counting. People have developed fail safe methods. Fox and Breitbart feed hoping people won't notice that it's indefensible. Fox, - a network who's advertisers include sellers of gold, cheap Viagra and Chamonix - remember that one? Sean Hannity was just a young, poor idiot trying to become wealthy and powerful without having to go to journalism school.
Trump faced heavy criticism this week for suggesting people should try voting twice, first by mail and then in person just in case. He then clarified on Twitter, “On Election Day, or Early Voting, go to your Polling Place to see whether or not your Mail In Vote has been Tabulated (Counted). If it has you will not be able to Vote & the Mail In System worked properly. If it has not been Counted, VOTE (which is a citizen’s right to do).”

What a terrible idea during a pandemic. Trump's penchant for terrible ideas, poor communication and dangerous rhetoric seems endless.
