Thank you for responding! Is there any relationship between the managers that interviewed you, and which position I may be offered? I interviewed with the high risk ob and nicu leaders, and I really feel like those positions are probably gone....I am probably reading to much into it, but why are some people being offered a position and I have only been offered the job shadowing? Should I anticipate that they area going to recommend an area I did not have listed in my top 3?

I was told by a recruiter that it did not matter if you applied earlier or not, that the specialty tracks would not be filled before the deadline. Is this a for sure thing???

I am going to call on Monday and ask the recruiter I am in contact with, about the specialty areas. I have heard different things, and wish I could give you a better answer.

Those who are have already decided or are currently deciding between Vanderbilt & TriStar Centennial: what are the most important factors for you? I'm pretty torn and only have a few days left to make a decision. Both are 2 year commitments.

Ultimately, I chose centennial over Vandy because I had a much better interview experience there. It just made me think if I didn't feel super welcome at the interview then I might feel that way working on the unit. I also was interviewing for a track that I didn't apply for and the unit I was offered at centennial aligned more with my interests. I tried to be really objective when deciding and not get caught up in the prestige of the Vanderbilt name. It also doesn't hurt that centennial pays a bit more. These are just my thoughts obviously and it's totally different for everyone. Congrats on getting both offers and good luck with your decision!!

Hi everyone! So I got an interview scheduled at Centennial, but am not sure how the interview process works. They said there it will be a 2 hour process, and that there will be a 30 min structured interview and then a 30 min peer interview. Can anyone explain how this interview process works?

Thanks in advance!

When you first arrive they will give you a name tag that has a group # and table #(those will be used later). Then you will be directed into a room with 19 other candidates. The CNO will talk to you for thirty minutes, along with her powerpoint presentation. (she is very nice) After that you will be broken up into three groups(this is were the group number and table number come into play). 1 group will take a hospital tour, 1 group will meet with the leaders in a large room with tables set up(I had two, but some only met with one), and the last group will meet with a peer nurse. Then everyone rotates after 30 minutes. It was really a good experience. I felt very at ease with the particular peer leader I had, but was really nervous with the leaders. I will also mention that the specialty positions are all gone. I was offfered an adult med-surg position. but declined because I am set on labor and delivery or nicu. I hope this informations helps! Also, if you go on indeed.com and look up the facility, a handful of the exact questions are posted under the interview section, but in general they are scenario type questions.

What is the interview with the peer leader like? I have never heard of a peer leader so that is new to me. I am shocked to hear that all of the specialty positions are gone. I was told by the recruiter I have been in contact with since last summer that it doesn't matter what time you apply, as long as it is before the deadline they still won't be full because they will not make the final decisions to cut off hiring those positions until the very end. I was not able to apply until April due to some school things I had to get finished first, so I was worried about that being a problem at first. Who said that they are for sure no longer hiring into the specialty tracks?
