Treatment for torn meniscus

Good afternoon everyone 🙂

I have a question for the ortho nurses here in this forum. What is the typical treatment (pre-surgery) for a torn meniscus? Someone I know told me that his doctor told him he could resume his "normal activities" (which include skiing and tennis, where you can twist your knee) but to stop if it hurt. Does that sound right? Thanks in advance!!

You know what the answer is going to be. 😉

That's what I figured. So he basically used no common sense, which is what I thought to begin with. Thanks for the confirmation! 🙂
