i am getting myself ready for travel nursing in a year.
1) Based on your experience, what nursing specialty has more job opportunities for travel assignment?
2) What part of California will you recommend?
Thanks a lot.

Please, please do yourself a favor and pick an area that you wish to work in, not the other way. This is something that you will be doing for the rest of your life, and if you start off hating it, it won't help.
Depending on what area of nursing that you wish to work in, even in CA, the specialty areas are now requiring two years of experience for most facilities. The agencies will require one year, but the facility can require what ever they want. For NICU, as well as Labor and Delivery, most are now wanting five years of experience.
Remember that with travel nursing, you have to be able to hit the floor running, you will get minimal orientation and are expected to be able to function with minimal assistance.
