Anyone taken the test at Parkland Dallas for the ER. Have signed my contract and now studying to take the test on Wednesday. Any help would be great! Is it multiple choice and how hard is it?

Hello,

I recently accepted a travel position in the ER at Parkland. I will be starting September 19th. I'm wondering the same thing about the challenge exams. Any info would be appreciated.

I took them 2 years ago. They are hard, but I passed. Know your rhythms and meds. They used to let you take the test a second time if you flunked it the first time.

I really enjoyed my 3 months there and would go back in a heartbeat except I recently went staff

Thanks for the info. I better keep studying. Do you remember if it was multiple choice or short answer? Also, any other info about the ER at parkland that would be helpful. Tips/ suggestions greatly appreciated. Coming from Canada and very nervous.

If test hasn't changed it is in 3 parts. EKG strips, pharmacology and general stuff. Lots of guestions from CEN and TNCC. Mostly multiple choice, and some math for meds

ER is an adult only. It is the county hospital. About 70 beds. Everyone works together. It is very busy and there is no down time. I did love working there.

Just took the exams and passed. They are doable if you study! EKG test was hard, but multiple choice. Found the other two to be easier. I am working in the ICC ER for 8 weeks. Good luck to you. I think personally, I'm going to enjoy my time there.
