I just want to vent...

  1. I hate that it seems difficult and time consuming getting a license in other states. With technology it shouldn't take long. Also I think all states should be within the compact agreement. Ugh....

I used to think that too until I saw how nurses with substance abuse issues jumped from state to state on their compact licenses....putting lives at risk!

Yea, true I could see how they would be able to do that. It doesn't help those of us who don't do drugs.

I'd like to see that article. There could be advantages to controlling substance abusers with a compact license - all complaints would go to a single board - making it harder to skip to a new state with a new license, something still common I'm afraid. Heavy reporting on slow and deficient handling of complaints (including dinged licenses from other states) led California to remove their board director and revamp their rules (including a more onerous walk-through process).
