Good Evening, everyone!

I am a one time traveler here, I actually left my home in Iowa to come to the east coast where I was in a contract for 6 months, and then accepted a manager position here. Worked full time in hospital admission since (approx 20 months), in January of this year I accepted a job transfer and an Asst Manager position in the ER, the issue is that I am always working as staff on the night shift.

Couple that with some financial trouble I have found myself in, (student loans), I am considering returning to travel nursing. As a travel nurse I seemed to make a great deal more and was able to put money away and get caught up on bills. When I started travel nursing I was in a similar situation.

Just posting for some input. I enjoyed travel nursing, it wasn't a bad time. And I feel like maybe I should see more of the country and while doing so finish that MSN online live I've been planning to do.

Input...

I would go for it. Pay off your bills and get some excitement. If you're not loving your current position and pay and aren't required to stay put, then travel!

Travel nursing can be an excellent way to get out of debt for the disciplined. I'm very disciplined and a saver, but I only saved enough money after three years in my first (and only) staff job to buy a used car to go traveling with. Amazing difference from working staff in the South to travel, I started immediately saving most of my earnings. I have a friend who has $30,000 in credit card debt who is paying it off and will be clear of debt in less than one year at his current rate of payment.

Another option to consider if you are considering taking your MSN online is to defer all government student loans. I am going back for my BSN and was able to defer my government loans. This allowed me to pay off in full my private loans which have much higher interest rates. This can also be useful if you have other kinds of debt like CC debt that Ned mentioned. Keep in mind your government loans still accrue interest while in deferment, but the rate is low.

Also, if you had fun travel nursing and you're feeling fulfillment in your current role, then go for something to make you happy. Finances are obviously important but enjoying life should be a top priority.

Yeah i guess that could be the right decision for you because most of the times when we stick to something which we feel like doing is that works appropriately and we get to learn through it.

At the moment what you are think is making sense because i have seen something similar while my traveling through bus to new york from indianapolis and it made me feel quite comfortable with travel nursing.
