Does anyone out there still use transilluminators to check for possible pneumos? If so what brand and where were they purchased? We still use it here but ours is so out dated. Thanks.

Sometimes our docs will check while we're waiting for a CXR. Our radiology techs are really good at getting up to us for stats though. We have the biliblanket transilluminator (Ohmeda Medical), a neonatal Venoscope and the handheld Wee Sight (Children's Medical Ventures). They usually use the biliblanket or the Venoscope, they're brighter.

We also use the Wee Sight transilluminators. They're pretty good for pneumos. Our docs will also use them at times when they're having trouble w/ an art stick.
