Hi all,

I recently passed my NCLEX RN exam and I needed help with information regarding the transfer of licence. A bit about myself. i am an international nurse and i originally applied to GA board for my licence. I was approved by them but i didnt get a chance to do my exams in the time specified. so i reapplied again and i have not had any joy. they said i have to pass my NCLEX RN exam in a different state and then i can endorse. now the question is do i fill the verification of licence in a paper format or can i apply to NURSYS. what sort of time frame does it take? can someone who has undergone this procedure, please help me.

thanks

Most states just use NURSYS. If your state participates in verification through NURSYS, the paper verification isn't required. I included that verification page in my packet, but wrote "see NURSYS verification" on it and included my NURSYS receipt.

As long as you get everything in the packet on the first try, endorsement isn't too lengthy. I was missing one thing (not really my fault, but they asked for a scan of my drivers license in addition to my other government ID), and it only took a little more than a week. Good luck!

Pixie you are a star. Thank you so much. Do you think it would be ok to not send my transcripts as they have that and the employer verification on file for me??

I included my cgfns number and a copy of verification doc form from my employer who btw is from UK. I will go through nursys for my license verification. Did you register for cogent fingerprint before or after you sent your application. Is nursys application before or after??

I did NURSYS and registered online with Cogent first, then did my fingerprints the same day I mailed my application (just did both at a UPS store that was a fingerprinting site). I would enclose a letter reminding them of what they have on file for you and include copies of whatever you have, just as an added measure.

No problem! I was stressing over the verification vs. NURSYS-only thing myself in August, but someone posted about it somewhere in this forum - they actually spoke with someone at the BON and got the answer. Happy to share what worked! Let us know how it goes for you. :)

I sure will pixie. Will do the nursys and register for finger prints.

I'll mail the application with a letter and explain. Hopefully that will help. I'll let you know for sure. Where are you based pixie. I am in Douglas county
