Hey Everyone!
I was wondering if anyone had experience/advice with transferring between nursing schools. I am currently looking to transfer to possibly TWU-Houston or UTMB from UTHealth in Houston.
I've completed 57 out of 60 hours at UTHealth with a 3.36 GPA. I have 2 credit hour clinical and 1 credit for the exit exam to be completed.
I won't go into detail right now about the very unfortunate circumstances. It is a very messed up situation. Not being to graduate from a program I've worked so hard at and essentially completed is devastating.
Am I looking at redoing nursing school (*crying at thought*) or will I be able to transfer the courses?

It is unlikely that the courses will transfer. While the state BON sets the information that is to be learned, schools are free to teach the information in whatever order they like. Your best place to seek information is those schools you want to investigate transferring to. However, be prepared for only prerequisites to be accepted for transfer credits and having to start over again with nursing courses.

Since UT Health is a system, (I know they have one in Tyler, TX) you might be able to transfer to either of those. Try UTA(University of Texas at Arlington) as well

I just graduated from UTMB and have a friend that graduated from UTHSC and our programs are nothing alike.
They were both nursing?
Yes. Both nursing.
