So, I just got accepted as a transfer, Pre-Nursing student into University of Alaska Anchorage's BSN program. I was really curious to know if anyone has heard about this program or if anyone has personally attended it and what they could tell me about it? I've researched a lot online, but haven't been able to find much information. If anyone could throw some information my way about how campus life is, if the program is manageable? I would greatly appreciate it. I'm debating whether it's worth moving across the country for, or I should just wait for someplace locally to accept me (Hopefully) Keep in mind, some BSN programs here in Philly are just as expensive here as it is me moving over there. Thank you everyone to responds!

If you want answers on a specific program, it helps to put it in the title.
Definitely forgot! Thank you for reminding me

Hi RIS94, I graduated from the BSN program through UAA last year. (Technically, it's a BS in Nursing Science). I didn't live on campus, but I had friends who did and really enjoyed it. The program is intense but manageable... for most. It is accelerated, so you would complete 5 trimesters in about 19 months. Overall, I think the program prepared me well for NCLEX since Kaplan is integrated into each semester. We lost about 35% of our original cohort, which is not uncommon. The students who attend this program come from all over the place. Last year, Anchorage school district was voted the most diverse in the nation in regards to student population. I believe we had 6 or 7 students in my cohort whose first language was not English, we really had an interesting group! It's also not too difficult to get a job as a new grad here and Alaska pays nurses well. Is there anything else specifically you would like to know?
