Training videos for staff

Published

I'm wanting to compile a list of videos staff can refer to if they need a refresher on s/s of asthma, anaphylaxis, seizures, etc. or how to administer Epi, inhalers. I'm sure great videos already exist---do you have ones you like from trustworthy resources? (i.e., not random YouTubers!)

Also, I'm curious to know how you do these trainings at the beginning of the year. I do them in person, usually at staff meetings, but this year, I got the feeling that my teachers would rather be able to do something on their own time and just submit proof they did it (rather than me taking up their precious time ... you know how it is.) Do you/would you consider more of this "on your own" training? Of course, I'd offer to be available to staff in person to answer any questions or clarify anything. Thanks! Just trying to make the beginning of the year as easy as I can ... I'm already starting to think about how I can tell them they're not getting health alert lists next year without everyone freaking out (I know, I know, big no no.)

The training that I use for food allergies is great. The link is below. There is a training for staff through the computer with a certificate upon completion so that you have documentation on who has done the training. The Mass Department of Public Health recommends this training for staff. My only complaint is that the training is a little long. However, the link is great to give to staff so they can review it whenever they feel the need.

Go to the EpiPen website, they do a great video and I thinK AviQ does one as well.

There are some very good videos here but it costs money.

I have a hard time with this as well .. . . . teacher staff meetings are hard for me to get access to for more than 5 minutes. I usually go from campus to campus and bus garage to bus garage but that takes so much time.

I'd rather we did something online where each individual was responsible for completing the training and then I get notified that it is done.

The above site has one video that teaches about asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy. I've considered purchasing it . . but I've watched the preview and while the info is good, truthfully, it seems like an old education video from the 80's and the music is irritating.

Here is a free video I used. It is short but good. Too bad it is only about one subject.
