Traditional Textbooks or eBooks (iPad)

What style of book did you use? What do you recommend?

I like the idea of books on the iPad, d/t ease of being able to have all your books with you inside one little tablet (for studying at work, while away from home etc.).

Anyone recommend against this? Is it more of a pain in the ass to do the iPad textbooks? How often are you reading two textbooks at once while learning a concept?

I used e-books while in school and liked them a lot.

I used ebooks and my iPad to organize all the stuff the school gave me to print out using a document app. So instead of having binders full of papers everything was on my Ipad. I liked it and it worked well for me. A lot less stuff to drag around.

Which document app did you use, Jenniferm1023? I just got an ipad a few months ago and am still trying to learn all the stuff I can do with it....

I'm not real crazy about iBooks so I was using one called Readdle and I liked that I could easily organize everything into folders. It recently changed the name to Documents by Readdle and then I Used Dropbox if I wanted to download something to the Internet and back and forth to my computer, I also use iCloud but I'm a MacBook user so I only use Apple products. I was very happy with this App and am still using it for other stuff even now after graduation.

I tried one ebook this semester. Fortunatley, it was one that I didn't "need" - an elective class. While I did have to read and study, obviously, it wasn't a core class. Anyway, regretted it almost from day one. Had I gone that route with one of my sciences, I probably would have ended up buying a book to go along with the ebook. Just not for me. I need to be able to flip pages and physically hold the book. I ended up not learning as much in the elective b/c i found the ebook to difficult to navigate while trying to study. To me, it was more like reading a novel than studying a text book. Constantly having to enlarge the info around charts/photos/figures/etc. Could just be me, but I won't use ebooks in the future. Sounds like lots of others did well with them, though. Good luck!
