Took NCLEX today

Published

I took the NCLEX today and i feel awful. I cried when the screen cut off at 75 questions. I really wanted to answer more questions. I thought the exam was pretty difficult. I had a ton of priority questions few meds, OB, and psych. Now the wait is on. This is going to be the toughest few days for me.

THIS REALLY SUCKS! :o

I took mine today as well, and when the computer shut off at 75, I felt relief. To be honest, the idea of having to sit through 265 questions was terrifying. I think we've got a better chance at passing with 75 than failing. Right??? Come on, you know it's true. It was pretty tough, and my exam sounds similar to yours... they said 48 hours... At least we can say we did it!!

Best wishes. :)

I know how you feel...but the difference is I know I failed the NCLEX, took all 265 questions or was it 263? :uhoh3: Anyway, how i know I failed, I got the weirdest last question about a cultural diet :crying2: ... I know I don't need to wait for them to tell me I failed.

Don't give up yet! If you were certainly failing, the computer would have not continued to give you questions - right? There have been several people lately who have posted taking all 265 questions and passing. Sorry for your distress - I hope you find out soon.

I took the thing on Tuesday. Still no rapid result. 75 questions that I felt really bad about. I felt the same way- it shut off and I wanted to scream. I've been a basket case ever since. I just want t o know for sure one way or the other. It really sucks that you have to wait 91 days to retake the test- i thought that it was only 45-that may vary by state. i was hoping to retake by end of july....

hope you do well- hang in there.

However, the last question was on a cultural/religious diet and I knew that sealed my fate, either way  .

Yeah, me too ER RN, I want to retake as soon as possible too...Already starting my $200 savings plan :chuckle . After getting a cultural/religious diet question (weird). :uhoh3: LOL

That is so funny to me because I was upset I didn't have 75 questions. To be honest I don't even know how many I had. I stopped looking after 112. Hang tight, everyone says you do better than you think!

I took it yesterday and it shut off at 75. Sounds like we are in the same boat! I was initially relieved until I started running the questions through my mind and looking up answers. I have one more day to wait before I find out my results - I want to know but then again don't . I guess I'm just afraid to get my hopes up...

Amazing the stress we have endured over the last couple years - wonder what kind of health effects its had on my mind and body? The irony. :rotfl:

Keep the faith :)

It is well established that the NCLEX gives you only enough questions to statistically predict that you will probably be a safe nurse or probably won't be.

If your last question was one you know you knew, you passed. (Why would it give you another question, if you got the last one right?)

If your last question was one you know you got wrong, don't give away your NCLEX review books. (The computer would not have given you that last question if you had enough right already that you passed.)

If you don't know how you did on the last question, you will probably find out soon enough.

There's a reason why we can retake the exam--because for a variety of reasons, perfectly capable nurses make enough errors that they fail the exam.

In any case, you will be fine. You will retake the exam or you won't. But you will be fine.

Easy for me to say, I know. In two weeks I'll be applying to take the NCLEX, and I will be right here, with my friends, which is where you are.

Most of us pass.... The odds are very good, therefore, statistically speaking, that you did too.

Best wishes--have a glass of tea and put your feet up. You deserve a reward for just having taken the darned thing!:kiss

You're theory sounds good except it doesn't explain my dilemma. I answered my last question wrong at 75 then it shut off!!! Everyone is required to take 75 questions.

Good luck on your boards :)
