So I took the NCLEX-RN today for the first time. A little bit confused, my gut is telling me I did good ( I walked out feeling good) at the same time most of my nursing friends said that the NCLEX was very hard, and I can't really agree to that... I think the exam was fair and certainly had its hard parts and a lot of analysis q's....I prepared for a month, hard core studying...I did kaplan class + all the qbank q's + answered all the question trainer....I got a lot of SATA's, Priority, One med. calc, 3 alternative questions and tons of infection control....I feel as if the kaplan questions were a lot harder, I did the PVT and I got the "pop up" ... I just don't know... Im hoping for good results...did anybody else feel like me?????:yawn:

Good Luck! I take mine in 2 days and also have been studying hard for about a month. If you don't mind me asking do you feel like Kaplan prepared you enough because I have done all the q bank and am in the process of taking the q trainer 7...I have been getting in the 50's and low 60's I just hope it has contained enough content. The fact that you got the "good pop up" is definitely a good sign...Congrats in advance...

I actually had the worst headache of my life when I finished my NCLEX back in July. I'd never felt that low in my entire life and honestly, the NCLEX is a surefire way to develop depression! Anywho, once I got home, I did the trick and felt reassured finally. Less than 10 hours later, I got the good news! So yay for you for finding the trick and I think you can sit back, relax, and wait for your name to pop up on your BON site!
Some test takers think the questions were hard, some think they were easy or varied. Only the computer knows how to test someone and know how they're doing, so it's best to not overanalyze how you thought the questions were.
Congrats in advance and welcome to the wonderful world of nursing!!!

I'm praying for you!! I got a ton of infection control questions too (took it yesterday). I hope you did well and for sure let us all know how you did.
I feel like kaplan helped in a sense where when I was answering the NCLEX questions - I felt confident. Maybe I guess I was doing 200 q's a day the last 2 weeks prior to my exam. I was scoring between 65-72% in my Question trainers and 66% as my overall qbank score. I read all the rationale for each qbank q's and it was very helpful. I felt the NCLEX q's werent as hard as the kaplan....But as far as studying the content, I mostly focused on Safe and effective environment, physiological adaptation, Reduction of risk, pharm and basic care and comfort. I felt like those made up most of the q's in the NCLEX. Kaplan doesn't provide in class content review, they have LOD video that goes over the content, I also did that - I thought it was helpful. My suggestion is just study, study and do a lot of questions and read the rationales - I tried to do Saunders just for content review but I found some conflicting materials between kaplan and saunders so I just stood with Kaplan. Also what I did during my test, I wrote the Decision Tree - just in case I get stuck in a question, I used it in a couple of question. You can't really use it with analysis q's. You'll be fine!!! Just do what works for you. And make sure to bring a DRIVERS LICENSE, in the midst of the craziness, preparing for the NCLEX I didn't bother to read what type of IDs they dont accept - LEARNERS PERMIT being one of them, I assumed any state ID will do (stupid of me I know) ... I almost forfeited my test and as if I needed that extra stress....Luckily the guy in the PV Center was really nice and gave me an hour to get my US passport ::PHEWWW::
You'll do great! think positive, remember you gave it your all and at least you can say you did your best!
@ NurseThis21 - Do you really think the PVT works?? I'm kind of iffy about it .... it does give you some peace of mind (somewhat) ... I've checked it 3 times today, kept getting the same pop-up saying Im registered for another exam....Im in NY and we have the 48 hr quick result...NY BON doesn't post your name on there until 3-4 days , by then we wouldn't got our result....I really do HOPE TO GOD I passed, I would be devastated, although it won't be the end of the world
Thank you!! omg tell me about it , man I don't know how to take that....How do you feel about the whole NCLEX-exam itself when you took it?
