took Nclex-RN today....feeling anxious!!!

Published

I took my NCLEX-RN this morning and it shut off somewhere around 206Q...I stopped counting after 200 b/c I didn't want to build up anxiety so I thought...265 here I come!!!! I have no intuition of whether I passed or failed and am too scared to do the PVT trick. This is my second time testing last time I tested with 265Q & failed and I dread that feeling of finding out which is why i'm stuck on whether or not to do PVT. I did pay the $7.95 to find out early but my results didn't show up for a couple days after I paid.

This time around I felt like the questions were alot easier although I wasn't sure about some of my answers.....I got a TON of SATA & proritizing questions...2 med calculation questions....& several drug questions...ughhh this waiting period is terrible!!!! Please pray for me! Last time all of mine were "near passing standard" except for infection control I got "below passing standard" I have been out of nursing school for over a year now and am just ready to be DONE WITH NCLEX so that I can move on with my life. When I think about it I feel like I'm having palpitations in my chest...I wish I was kidding but the feeling is terrible!

I took about 4 hrs last time for the total amount of questions and this time around I tested in 2 1/2 hrs. I'm just thinking if I failed this time I got worst...b/c isn't it that with the lesser amount of questions you answer and fail the worst you did?? When I got my results last time it said that I "just nearly passed" by taking 265Q & failing b/c I was inconsistent on my answers of right & wrong so the test could not decide if I should pass or fail.

Wishing you nothing but the best. Good luck!!

i wish you all the best ....i know iam gonna die if i get that many questions, i seem to cant even sit still for 100 questions, iam struggling with that

it is definitely not ideal nor fun to take that many questions...the first time when I took 265 questions I had a terrible headache in the back of my head...I think my occipital lobe was tired haha from straining my eyes sitting directly in front of the computer for 4 hrs of testing. I HIGHLY recommend taking breaks!!! Last time I only took one very brief break b/c I kept thinking...oh just one more question..one more question...then it kept going to 265! I had become so restless towards the end.

This time I tested 2 1/2 hours (includes breaks) & took two breaks and it for sure helped me refocus!! I decided to wait at least one hour and take at least 75 questions before taking my first break. They schedule one at 2 hours, the computer will prompt you but you can just raise your hand and take one whenever you want. So my first break I just walked down the hall and used the restroom & drank some water I brought. When I returned I turned off the question counter on my screen and in about another 1 15 min I decided to take another test b/c I caught myself drifting off sort of...(not focusing so well & feeling kinda worn out). This time I took a longer break and went down to the lobby area and ate my banana & snickers bar & did a few jumping jacks to get my circulation running (lol luckily NO ONE was to be seen in the rest of the building...you need that blood pumping through your brain). You will be highly tempted NOT to take breaks b/c you just want it to be over with..during my breaks I wanted to just run back in the testing room and finish my exam. After my 2nd break I went back in and could tell immediately I was more focused with the first question I returned to...about 1/2 hr later the screen went blue and I felt a sigh of relief.....make sure to utilize those breaks!! :) :) I really hope this helps you or someone!

now the waiting game continues......

I wish you the best! Good luck,

So i couldn't wait anymore to try the PVT Trick b/c with Monday being a holiday that would be an extra 24 hrs to wait...and right now that seems like eternity! I got the GOOD POP UP!!!! does this mean I passed? I feel better but I'm afraid to get my hopes up b/c I know it's not official results. Someone wrote on here that theirs wasn't reliable so I'm thinking I could be in that small %. I keep checking the BON site to see if a RN license number is listed under my name b/c I heard sometimes that shows up before the official results do....still feeling uneasy

Congrats!! It means that you passed. I have to take mine the 28th of this month!
