Im from the Philippines and took the NCLEX-RN last June 16, 2008. Its been more than a month now and still havent got my result yet (Increase anxiety related to delayed NCLEX-RN result as manifested by sleepless night)..
Anyhow, the computer shut off @ question 75! If i remember it correctly, I had more than 10 SATAS, 6 pharma, 3 drug computations, a lot of prioritizations. I find the exam quite difficult!
Should I call CA-BRN, because a friend of mine who took the exam the following day (june 17) already got his result!

Welcome to the site
Moved this to the International forum
Average time for BRN to contact you via snail mail is 4-6 weeks. I would give it a bit longer and contact them to see if they have sent letters out.
thanks for the info silverdragon.
how do i move this thread to international forum? im a newbie using this site.
anyway, ca-brn is killing me might call them tomorrow, it'll be the 6th week.. I just hope they me a good news on my nclex-rn result.
The wait is killing me, theres no job opportunity for nurse here in PH and there's the retrogression thing happening in the US.
by the way, where are you from silverdragon?

You are unable to move this thread, we have moved it for you.
You tested little more than a month ago, you need to give the mail time to get to you. Letters that one passes or does not pass do not go out as soon as you test, but several weeks later.
Your results will reach you by your mail system, the CA BRN will never give you results over the phone. They are unable to do that.
Please give it another week or so.

you can avail the 2 day result on line from pearson but with a fee. im just not sure if california is included
California doesn't take part in quick results
CA does not issue a license without the nurse having a SSN#, so one will never seen their name on that site until they are in the US with a visa that will permit them to work and they have obtained the SSN#.
The only way for a foreign nurse to get their results is by letter and that only tells them if they passed or not.
And only 27 states participate in the Quick Results with Pearson-Vue.
I called CA-BRN 2x, and both times the telephone operator took my information and 2x transferred me to a voicemail. I left a message and requested for a call or update regarding my nclex-rn result. Im still waiting for the update and plannig to call them again first thing in the morning.
Is it easier to apply for a working visa? whats the fastest way that i could get a SS#?
Thanks

There is no fast way, visas are in retrogression and unless you meet the criteria of H1b (not many nurses do) then the only option is GC and wait
I was able to speak with the operation few minutes back, and I was told that they will have to re-mail my result, would take about 2weeks!! another 2 weeks of agony *sigh*
Would you know the criteria in applying H1B visa? Will they reject my application for H1B even if theres an employer willing to sponsor?
Silverdraggon what would you suggest me to do (with the retrogression in the US and problems in London)??
If a new grad then you will not meet criteria of H1b, this visa type is under investigation due to huge misuse of it. Not sure what you mean by problems with London but if looking at working permit then you will probably find it is something which affects all of the EU not just the UK.
Results can never be given over the phone, it is illegal for them to do that.
Right now, there are very few countries that are open that have visas available for nurses. The EU has a hiring freeze and the US is under a retrogression.
Most of the other countries require at least the local license as well as at least a year of experience. Not sure where you fit in with your experience as well as local license.
You will also find very few employers that are willing to petition for the H1-B visa at this time. And you need to be aware that the H1-B is done by lottery system, next time to submit is next April for a start in October, 2009. But as mentioned above, this visa is currently being investigated as it was designed for specialists, and as a new grad without experience, that does not count as specialist status.
Best of luck to you, but suggest that you do some reading on this site to see what is going on right now. And check out the Philippine Forum to get some ideas of what you can be doing in your country to create your own experience.
