Took NCLEX 2nd time

Published

To those who have taken NCLEX or have any idea...

I have taken the NCLEX-RN exam yesterday. It was my 2nd time.

I really don't know what to feel or so on. I know on my 1st time, ended up with 75 questions (3-4 SATA, 1 Hotspot / Picture, Content based multiple choices (Less Prioritization), I knew that I failed. I felt it. It was my fault anyway. Well, life goes on, so did I.

But this time, I really don't know. It was different. I had 10-15 SATA (Did not count it but somewhere around that number), 1 drag and drop, 1 ECG, Many prioritization (Do 1st, See 1st), Safety and Control, And few Delegation Questions. The rest - multiple choices. Ended up at 75. I really felt that I would ended up again at 75.

But I don't know what to feel after that. There were few questions that I knew but almost every questions were 'I don't know', did not even encounter during my review, and tricky but I tried to do the elimination process and did my best. I remained calm as much as I can. I still have mixed emotions. I feel that I failed, but hoping that I have a higher chance to pass. Honestly, I don't know what to feel. I don't wanna expect. I wanna hope, but it's hard. I just want to know the result and get over it. And figure out what to do next.

What do you think?

I'm registered in TX BON, when does the license number show? I keep looking for mine, but nothing shows. So I really don't know.

I read that the pearson vue trick doesn't work anymore. I don't wanna waste $200 if ever you know.

Please share your experience or any comment. I would appreciate it. Thank you.

It's easy (and very common) to feel like you failed when you actually passed. That's because of how the NCLEX is designed. It will rapidly find your level of ability for that day at that time. At some point, you'll reach your limit and when that does happen, you'll bounce from knowing the answer to not knowing the answer. It's hard to tell if you passed or failed simply based on the question mix you had.

Just keep your cool, watch the Tx BON website and if TX participates in the Quick Results, that's the quick/reliable way to find out your pass/fail status... even though it costs $8.

Just purchased the quick result few minutes ago! I passed!!!! :)

Congrats ! What books did u use or review class that u took the 1st and 2nd time ?

1st time - Kaplan course (Mostly did questions only) and 35 page guide.

(Had to work on my content)

2nd time - Kaplan content book (Read the whole book, took notes, and recap them) then NCSBN questions only.

I will try to post the details asap.

That's awesome . Thx atom so content is important huh

My main tip: STRONG CONTENT + EFFECTIVE / APPLICABLE STRATEGIES (PRACTICE QUESTIONS) + POSITIVE MINDSET / SELF DISCIPLINE + WITH GOD, I CAN = VERY HIGH CHANCE OF PASSING :)

Congratulations Atom...my kababayan!

@shymee05 Thanks kababayan! :)
