I don't think you're crazy. I would hate to work in the OR precisely because I can't talk to my patients. They are the best part of my day. :p

Best luck to you. I worked 3 years in a cardiac recovery unit and then went back to cardiac telemetry. Yes, my patients are more awake but because I care for 3-5 at a time, I don't get much time to interact with them; frequent interruptions with phone calls and such.

And then there are the visitors to deal with...
