To my fellow CSN RN students

Published

I'll be starting the RN program in Spring 2013, and I was wondering if any 2nd, 3rd, or 4th semester students like to give us that are coming in an insight on what to expect for the 1st semester? I'm actually getting nervous and excited in way.

Also, since I have some down time, any recommendations on what to brush up on or go over (i.e calculations, nursing practices, etc) that will help us prepare for the semester.

Thanks a gazillion!

The best advice I can give you is to spend as little time and energy THINKING about the program as possible and enjoy what is left of your "life" because come Jan 22 it is all over. Hang out with some non nursing school friends and spend time with your family. RELAX... Enjoy doing not much of anything because for the next two years even if you have ALL your homework and reading finished (which is unlikely) you will always have this lingering feeling that you should be doing SOMETHING for school. I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just trying to convince you how important it is to enjoy this time you have before school starts.

You should def spend a little time on dosage calc. If you haven't already, try to sign up for the Nursing Toolbox class for Jan. it is TOTALLY worth the time and money. Everyone I know who took it got 100% on every dosage calc exam!
