TO ALL NCLEX Exam takers

Published

My Exam is due this March in HK and I have yet to find an affordable

and nearest hotel to the testing center. I'll be traveling with a companion.

Any travel agency would you recommend? Or is it more cheaper if I plan

everything on my own?

Need your recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Anyone tried Lan Kwai Fong Hotel?

bump for the day

I suggest that you check out www.asiahotels.com

they have good rates at most facilities in the testing area, and you can see exact distances from the hotel to the testing center.

:welcome: I'll be taking my exam too on march 24, 2007. Central Park hotel can be nearest. Or RAmada could also be the other option.;)

thanks for sharing Suzanne, this will surely give me plenty of time to scout

that fits my budget.

you think its better to book online rather than go with a travel agency?

Transportation via the MTR in Hongkong is pretty much easy and fast and as long as you stay in a hotel near the MTR station, you seems to be near the exam center. Find a cheap hotel near MTR and then try to visit the exam center a day before to give yourself a hint how long it will take to reach the center.

When I took NCLEX last Aug. 06, I stayed in a nice hotel 30 minutes away by MTR.

I know of a friend who stayed at lan kwai fong hotel last year. She said they have good facilities. They're good if you are looking for a less expensive hotel to stay in Hong Kong... Goodluck in finding one...

Which hotel did you stayed in and was your accommodation arranged by a Travel Agency including the flight? How much did you spent in all including your pocket money?

Thanks for reply in advance.

If you still have the time to read hotel reviews from travellers themselves, try the Hong Kong Hotels forum section of the www.tripadvisor.com ; www.VirtualTourist.com ; www.travel.yahoo.com ; www.Frommers.com . I was able to get a good rate from www.HotelTravel.com . My personal choice was the Metropark Causeway Bay Hong Kong Hotel (4-star). I was able to book on-line for a Standard Harbourview room for just US$87/night (for March stay). Inclusive of the taxes, the total for 3 nights/4 days was US$261. Much cheaper than getting this room from travel agencies/other on-line bookers. Another cheaper site is www.directrooms.com , but I haven't tried booking there yet, so I cannot say if they really have secured booking system. I feel confident booking in www.HotelTravel.com since I've tried it before with my other travels abroad. You can PM me for other tips.

Much appreciated, I still have 2 months to prepare everything and will surely include your suggestions in my research.

Btw, did you booked your flight via Cebu Pacific's "Go Fares" or a regular PAL and for how much for a roundtrip?

Thanks in advance!

I found Cebu Pacific on-line fare much more reasonable than PAL's. I paid P7,435.00 for the roundtrip fare (got the 11 pm return flight which is cheaper than the am ones).

Planning to book with Cebu Pacific (Go Fares) as well with a return

flight of 7pm, similar quote given.

Called Philippine Airlines (PAL) and they were charging 16K+.

What are the tourist spots lined up for your visit after the exam?

Will be staying for 3D/2N and I hope to spend the rest of my visit

checking out some nice places afterwards.
