Hi Everyone,
I am a RN with active RN license. I have been looking for the job for more than 10 months. I have done my associate degree of nursing from India and I have worked there for 4 years. I came here 2 years back, it took me more than a year to equivalent my certificates. I passed my NCLEX-RN in january 2010. I am PR of the USA. I am desperately looking for the job since Jan and I am ready to work in any health facility i.e home care, LTC, rehab center, hospice center, Nursing home, hospitals, schools, SNF. I have applied to many facilities but have not heard anything. I am really dissapointed, I don't want to quit this profession because I really enjoy being nurse.
I can't afford further education. Please god help me, I don't have any choice and I don't want to quit this profession. Please please please have some suggestion for me.

I'm not sure what state your from, but I'm a recent grad and passed Ohio boards 9/21/10 and the job market is BRUTAL. Most health care facilities will not even consider us d/t lack of experience. Home Care Agencies in our area would hire you on the spot! You only need a 1year experience in nursing. Do you have a cover letter? This can sell an employer all your experience, training, etc. The job market is brutal and VERY competive! You definetly have a lot to offer! Good Luck!

You have 4 years of nursing experience in India. Yes, go to home care or private duty home care agencies in your city. You will get hired. These jobs usually only require 1 year of nursing experience which you have since you worked as a nurse in India for 4 years.
