Tips for students taking A&P during the summer?

Published

Taking A&P II this summer for 11 weeks. Any advice on how to keep up and organized would be great!

I am too. Figure it is going to need a couple of hours of homework and review every night, a lot of reading on the weekends. I'm going to start reviewing the first section, endocrine now, to prepare a little in advance. Good luck.

Bring a camera to class...it will help you w/ slides and models.

I learned a trick when I took 6 classes at once. Make yourself a chronological spreadsheet. I listed every discussion, assignment, test, essay, etc and the due dates. Then did a date sort and had a nice list of items that I could glance over at and see where I was. Cross the items off one at a time when you get them done and it gives you a nice sense of accomplishment to see you're making progress.

I have a planner with each date put in as well (I use that for weekly prioritizing) but the spreadsheet was the most important one for me, no flipping back and forth!

BTW - I took AP2 last summer (along with Micro and Gen Psych). It's a good class; challenging but interesting. I fell in love with the heart and its now on the list of specialties for me (Cardiac CCU) I want to look into further. Good luck!!
