Thoughts regarding MALE RNs?

Published

As a male nurse in an ICU/CCU here in Southern California, I was just wondering what your thoughts are regarding male nurses in your respective units? :coollook:

No problem. Happy to have the guys around!

Want more!!!!:lol2:

To be honest I want it to be like the song

"It's raining men - HALELEUAH!":D

I always like working with the "boys" the interpersonal dynamic is different less intense and there is rarely any problems about "you are just a woman"

Well. . . as a RN who happens to have that XY Chromosomal genetic make-up, I really like having me where I am! :D

Ted

wish we had more of them around our wards

I'd much rather work with the guys- it's been my experience that they are less "catty", less backstabbing, way more laid back. Now of course there are exceptions to that, but overall I think men are easier to get along with.

In my ~20 years in nursing, I have worked with good and bad female nurses, and good and bad male nurses. I don't care which set of genitals you sport as long as you're competent and willing to do your share. :chuckle

I totally agree with Elk on this! I love working with the guys...in fact tonite, I will be the token female at work...how often does that happen?

There is good and bad to both sexes...as long as the personality doesn't drive me crazy and the person is competent. I love working with people that have fun at work!

I want compent, skilled people to work with. I don't care what their gender is. To me it's a non-issue.
