So I've finally decided to pursue my psychiatric NP. I'd prefer the online route and I'm surprised I'm not finding many options for schools.
I've found Walden University in MN, Rivier University in NH, and Regis College in MA. That's it! Do you know about other psych NP schools?

Have you spoken/met with any Psych NPs in your area? Find out what schools they attended and maybe make a connection for clinical? Is there a specific reason you want online?

I would strongly advise against online only programs. Most campus based programs are hybrid with a large online component. By the last year I went on campus once a month. As a previous poster suggested, talk with some NPs in your area about where they went to school and the reputations of programs.

That's definitely something to consider. I did find a local program that is traditional..I just need to learn more about their class schedule

I second dallasmiss. Out of the 3 you mentioned, Walden is widely considered a diploma mill with no admission standards and absent academic rigor.

That's good to know about Walden... Thanks!

Frontier Nursing University is worth looking into you have 2 onsite requirements one each year, however, no one is doing onsite right now. FNU one of the oldest nursing schools in usa and affordable the program also alows you to go directly into Doctrate program if you desire. They have a 98% certification pass rate while national pass rate is 80%. Worth looking into jmo

Right... my program we had class every other week on Thursdays all day. Most of the time should be doing hospital/clinic anyway. Hybrid makes sense for this type of degree.
Besides, who is going to campus these days?
As a side note, arranging clinic placement is a huge problem especially for smaller specialty groups. I would imagine most online only schools, you have to arrange a clinic site yourself. This was a nightmare even at my brick and mortar...
