Is anyone familiar with this university 'Thomsons rivers university' http://www.tru.ca/home.html

What kind of information are you looking for? The University began as Cariboo College, then when the province extended degree-granting privileges to the college it became the University-College of the Cariboo. The name change to Thompson Rivers University took place April 1, 2005. It's an under-graduate university in the city of Kamloops, population about 80,000, in the BC Interior. The campus is on the south side of the North Thompson River high on the hill. It is a beautiful campus in a beautiful city, with great transit access. My sister has a degree in political science from the former UCC and she is occasionally a sessional instructor there. What else would you like to know?

I am looking into doing psychology distant or online.I was just wondering how credible and recognized they are.

Like would reading for a degree from them and then looking for jobs and cant find any cuz its not worth the paper its printed on would be lol disheartening.

I Know this has nothing to do with nursing,just need some help looking into all my options.

Canadian universities are generally not thought of as fly-by-night organizations. Post-secondary education in Canada is heavily regulated and to be permitted to call a school a university, there are many standards to meet. TRU is one of the pioneers of distance learning in Canada with a very high reputation. They helped develop the Canadian Virtual University and are leaders in distance education. Oh, and in March the premier of BC announced that the government had approved TRU as the newest English-language law school in Canada, set to open in 2011. How much more credibility could you want?

I cant seem to find anything online like a message board or reviews of the school in my search.If you or anyone else come across anything please let me know.Would be nice to chat with students to find out whats its like.

im familiar!!! I live in Kamloops and Graduated from Nursing last year from TRU!

I can assure you that TRU is as reputable as they come..they have the best Nursing School in BC as well as other GREAT programs...the campus is great, the city is great...The degrees are recognizable by everyone I believe, plus it is the cheapest University in BC and the cost of living is low here compared to the lower mainland.
