What specific questions do you have? I highly recommend TESC. I am currently in TESC. I have completed all of the nursing courses and all I have left is to take Microbiology and I will have my BSN from TESC. I enrolled in April 2006. I took two classess per quarter. General advice which I would give to anyone who is thinking of enrolling TESC. It is not easy!!! It is very time consuming. You will not believe the number of weekends which I spent from mornning to dusk on my computer working on papers. I earned a "A" in every class but I worked at it. I did not have to do any clinical time. My tip for success is to never, never, never get behind in a class. Place due dates for papers on a calendar and begin work on your papers EARLY!!

I completed 4 courses towards a BSN with TESC. The courses were not bad, but as someone else pointed out, they do require some work. There are no clinicals but I believe there is a community assessment type project.
I want to do the rn to msn program. I would like to know how long it takes to complete. I understand it won't be easy but I like the idea of doing the rn to msn at one time. I thought I saw something about you can start anytime. Is there really a 375.00 app fee.
I don't think there is an application fee for the BSN program. I think there are 7 courses for the BSN. Not quite sure exactly how many for the MSN. You can take a couple of courses without applying. I also believe you can as many course as you want to finish on your own timeframe.
Best of luck to you.

I have their application packet...it is confusing, but looks like they require a 75.00 application fee PLUS a 300.00 fee (NON-REFUNDABLE) in order to do a full "credential review" They also appear to charge you tuition for the credits you already received somewhere else....if they are transferred in to TESC. Makes the $$ per credit hour double to about 300.00 per credit hour. approx. 13k for about 40 credit hours, if done in two years. This is leaving a bad taste in my mouth, and I may pass them by.

flowjoe - I spoke to the dean of nursing, and yes, you are correct about the $75 appl fee and the $300 credential review of your transcripts. That floored me too. For out of state RN-BSN program, tuition is $352 per cr/hr. I did asked her why so much $$$ for the appl & transcript review, her answer was that TESC is extremely generous about accepting all/majority of your classes, and that you would end up taking less classes as opposed to other colleges that would not accept those classes. If you obtained your ASD/ASN (accredited) degree at a community college, I was told all would be accepted, and extra classes could be put towards any general electives you might need. I checked out lots of schools in my state and of course out of state, all seem to be anywhere from $340 to $550 cr/hr. I ended up narrowing my selection to 3 other online schools other than TESC, and it seems to be anywhere from $12K to 15K as you said for the 2 yrs. The only reason I was leaning towards TESC, is due to accepting more of my classes....plus they were not requiring me to take 2-3 extra religions, or extra history, etc.. Best of luck to you.
Great info, Thanks! I see you are right. I have also applied at 3 other schools, to see what the prereq situation is. Where I came up with the tuition charged for transferring credits, is from their site, using their tuition calculator...and it seems to add up the same anyway. You know I must have seen a really old post that posted incorrect $$ per credit hour..and did not recheck. Anyway, my problem is I wanted to choose my school, after they told me what prereqs, if any are required. I mean my sciences are over 15 years old, AND I would hate to pay 375.00, and then be told I have a whole lotta other courses to do. I am trying to find a program that I only have to take about 8 courses total...including prereqs...FYI: I have sent app. off to Univ. of Wyoming, Univ. of texas El Paso and Univ. of North Alabama....due to price and fewer upper level nursing courses. I am also trying to dodge the math and stats bullet. Good luck, and it was so nice of you to cut and paste the info from the site to this board.
I wish they would accept a 75.00 application fee alone, and just give me a prelim. review of my transcripts so I would know if they will accept everything or not....300.00 to find out that I lack many courses...would be money wasted.
So, I never asked you, are you enrolled yet?? I have the application, but am waiting to send it until I can find out if all my credits will transfer. I did go to a comm. college....and have my ADN/ASN.

flowjoe, ditto here. I was hoping they would accept the $75 too for an unofficial transcript eval....other schools I was able to fax them a copy of my transcripts for an "unofficial" eval, but it least it told me where I stood in regards to cost (how many extra classes I would need). I believe the dean of nursing was sincere in regards to accepting all classes, & then some. No, haven't sent in my $75 yet, nor the $300 since credit card is maxed, and just had a lot of incidentals this month, in addition to the norm (mortgage ,utilities, etc...). I am hoping it is not a waste, but I am thinking if this school can "save" me from taking those extra classes, well, might be worth it.
