Hi Beneficience,
To answer your questions, I will advise you to do what I did. At the top of this forum there are some discussions that give advice to aspiring SRNA students. Just by looking at these stickies may answer several of your questions. For your other questions such as how many hours are needed to shadow a CRNA are very dependent on the school. Some schools do require shadowing experience, and others like to see that you have taken the initiative but it is not directly stated that you have to shadow a CRNA. Expect to be competitive with a GRE at the very low end of 1,000. Once again, do some research on the school's websites. It is a good idea to get your CCRN certification, and you must have your BLS, ACLS, and PALS. CVICU is great experience so you are on the right track. I wish I could help out more. I start school in January 07. Please check out the old threads and do some research on this website. Some of the advice is extremely valuable!
Good luck!
