Things you would love to say to your fellow nursing students!

Published

Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.

Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle

When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)

Congratulations, MiVidaLoca, on passing that class! You're still in the running to becoming America's Next Top Nurse! (lol, I hope someone gets that reference)

HyperSaurus, I love it! I feel like I got my photo handed to me today--I passed Med/Surg I.

To my classmate that didn't--I'm heartbroken for you. The more time we, as a class, spend together, the more like a family we become (with the crazy cousins of course) and I hate seeing anyone leave.

To the classmate that I thought really annoying all of first semester--I'm so glad you were in my last clinical rotation. You're a really good guy and I'm sorry for all the mean things I thought about you. You're going to be a great nurse some day.

Congrats Mi Vida Loca! I'm happy for you too, for passing your class. And congrats on finding good friends! That's a really hard thing to do sometimes!

And, HyperSaurus, I have in my hands, one picture. If I don't call your name, you must immediately return to the house and pack your belongings.

Oh and thank you!!!!

ps- I am hoping you have read my posts well enough on here to know I was totally not being serious in my above post LOL

Thank You, I was very relieved, I will never let myself get that close again. I really let myself get off track early on. Stupid Stupid mistake on my part. It was so hard to because a couple students called me to see if I passed they just saw they didn't and they were crying, we all knew we were close, and so from the crying I knew they didn't make it and I just felt so bad :(We all were checking facebook too for those that post a lot there, if they were safe they posted it right away and usually let everyone know grades are up to.

Anyway, brushed my shoulders off, started Peds/Ob and going to shoot for an A again, be perfectly content with a B, will be a little bummed to get a C but will be happy to pass in the end LOL That Med/Surg class was 9 credits so it will take a hit on my GPA and to do the BSN bridge program I want to eventually do you have to have a minimum 3.0 GPA so I have to watch my grade not to get to low :|

Anyway, thanks for letting me get all that out. I love this site!!!

I too have been very sad to see my friends leave the program. Once, like a stupid idiot, I made a poor joke after a test. I said, "So.............. not so bad huh?" for a really hard test. I didn't know it but many had flunked. :uhoh3: I learned to be serious after the test. Yes I could feel relief that the test was over, but don't joke like that anymore.

I like the guy who is quiet. He is the smartest person in class but doesn't brag in any way. If anyone asks how he did he says ok or pretty good but never tells exactly what his score was.

We will share our excitement with each other, although when I did super bad I know my close friends when I asked if they did ok were reluctant to say but I told them not to ever feel bad about a good grade and that I very much want to see them do well just like I know they hope for me. It's hard though when your on that other side, I mean I almost hated saying I passed when the 2 people called me crying. I felt So so bad. :(

People shouldn't get mad when someone does well and someone shouldn't have to hide the fact they did well, But it's all about tact and how you "share" the info I think. I mean if you walk into a class and you see some people really upset saying how bad they did, have enough tact to not be like, Oh sucks for you I did great. Or something.

Most people in my class have been good about it all over all. Just a few that you just want to smack LOL I have never done as bad as I just did in med/surg and it wasn't even about being smart or not understanding the material. That gave me a lot of comfort in continuing on, as odd as it sounds, I knew it was an internal problem that I recognized why I went off track and could fix, that is much easier for me then if it was that I just wasn't able to grasp or understand the material.

"Im so glad you know everything."

"Do you have a story for every freaking disease/illness we cover?"

"Don't want to hear your take on legalizing xyz drug(s)."

"If you can't pass med term I, just drop out. Find another career."

"The teacher teaches. I dont care how many times you've had to retake this class"

"You know, the class starts on time for a reason. It's not a suggestion for when you should possibly show up"

"A lack of planning on your part, does not constitute an emergency on my part."

"The test is today, you knew that yesterday"

"Yes I do think you are an idiot for walking down the hallways arguing on the phone with your boyfriend. I don't care who or what hes doing....remember people are all around you."

"It's not the department head's fault that you can't be up for class by 9am"

"The dress code says business casual or scrubs, not bar clothes, jeans, pajama pants, tank tops, etc..."

"Proper grammar goes a long way. So does a freaking tic-tac"

"I dont care what happened in your last hour class. I care about this class, right now, so shut up about it already"

" If you don't turn that damn cell phone off or to silent, I will personally shove it up your butt, sideways"

"If you think it's okay to play games on your phone during a lecture, then I think its okay if you fail the test"

"Keep your social life outside the school doors. Dont care about what you did this week, who you saw, where you went or who's ass you kicked. Bottom line, Dont know, Dont care."

"If you dont have the decency to atleast attempt your classwork, dont expect me to have the time to help you."

and finally,

"Your opinion is just that. YOUR opinion. That doesn't make it correct. Dont get mad at me when I disagree with you."
