Along the lines of the first thread, "Things you would love to say to your nursing instructors" I thought this would be a great thread to start. I've since graduated LVN but there was one main thing I wanted to say to some students in my class.
Will you people in the back row please stop talking! I swear that today I can still hear their motormouths running! :chuckle
When I am in the RN bridge I will come back and post some more. I'm sure some of you have something to get off your chest. Come on and unload here! :)
It is tough because we are all under stress and usually overtired and often overwhelmed. There are times when we can all annoy others and even ourselves with our behavior. I try to remind myself that somehow, somewhere, within ourselves, we are all trying to do our very best. Sometimes it just does not come out looking that way and we may not be as nice or considerate as our neighbor thought we should be.
I've been trying to remember that forgiveness of ourselves and all others can be most helpful at such times. Even if I am not always successful, it seems to be the best course to be on to be able to find a measure contentment in this world, and nursing school!
Please stop saying, "oh you must have aced the exam" after each test we take. The fact that I have As doesn't mean every exam comes easily to me--I work as hard as everyone else, and often the stress comes to me much more easily than the correct answers do.
In fact, if you keep saying it, I'll make you start buying my omeprazole for me.
I'd tell everyone to freaking relax. Maybe its the pool of estrogen im surrounded in but everyone is at each others throats.
Stop freaking out over tests. The more you worry the worse you do.
Yes i take tests fast and I try to leave the room quietly and not disturb others. YOU making a big deal of it as im leaving ruins this
I agree. I have had a student say that I am so smart and I look so calm when I work incredibly hard (we all do) it's just that it does not come easily for me so I have to really keep at it.........and then I have a very diffucult time keeping my emotions of fear under control. I may get an A, but t sure was not a smooth and easy thing to do. Lots of discomfort and anxiety.
Repeats of plenty above--but need to get it off my chest, too!
Are you the instructor or the student?
You don't do well on tests because you spend the entire class texting.
PLEASE STOP TALKING!
Why do you care so much about other people's grades?
This is not your typical school--if you want typical, it's down the road.
Stop complaining, it's contagious.
I'm sorry, is this YOUR class or OUR class?
What gave you the impression this was going to be easy?
Oh, why can't I remember the rest right now? I should take my own advice and stop complaining!
Do we have to compare every question/answer after an exam? And how do you remember verbatim the ENTIRE exam? How I am doing in this class is my business, and yes there is a good chance you did better than me, is that a nice self-esteem boost?
Just because a quiz/assignment is offered online does not mean that it is a group assignment.
Yes, yes, yes!! I get tired of the comparisons after an exam. I don't want to hear everyone swap answers and try to figure out how everyone did. I have enough information taking up my brain space.
1. Yes, I'm avoiding you. Thank you for noticing.
2. Get it together. Take control of your education. Know what you are responsible for. This is second semester. Your responsibilities shouldn't be news to you.
3. I don't even know what to say to you. I just shake my head when I see you.
4. If you aren't going to pay attention to what the clinical instructor is saying, then MOVE ASIDE so I can hear her.

We all GOT IN to Nursing School
....the competition is OVER. Quit asking me about how I did on the exam!! :angryfire
Your in your second semester and you ask the instructor what "diaphoresis" is? What is wrong with you?
Quit monopolizing the entire class with your "If I had a client with this situation, that situation" questions! You are wasting our time and our instructor is to nice to cut you off!
