I am currently applying for several agencies in my area. One agency that I applyed for told me I could only work in dialysis because that is what I have been doing for the last 2 years. I have past experience in C.C.U., Rehab, and Outpatient Hemodialysis and they are not considering my other experience because I have been at dialysis for the last 2.5 years. I am currently employed at the dialysis center and I am trying to get out of this work because I work 4-5 days a week and I dont like the hours. I would rather work 2 night shifts a week at a hospital and get out of dialysis. I just had a baby and I'm trying to change jobs for this reason, to be home more with my baby. My question is do all agencies only let you work in the one area that you specialize in or do they let you work in areas that you don't have any experience in? I am eager to work in other areas where I can work in the hospital again.

You need to have experience in the areas you want to work in to do that work with an agency...as a general rule of thumb.
