Aaaargh! My entire school has lost it's collective mind! Kids are freaking out, yelling screaming and running around like wild animals! It is usually not like this until the day before a break...we still have the rest of today AND tomorrow to get through!
On the bright side, they are so distracted with class parties and Santa visiting and field trips that I have only seen TWO kids so far today, LOL! That just gives me more time to help the teacher wrangle the wild ones.

Purple,
I am so with you! But, I've seen more kids today than I've seen in one day since before Thanksgiving (22 not including my regular med kids). It's crazy!!!

I have a "Health & Fitness Club" after school and I thought the kids were exceptionally crazy yesterday! We had 3 snow days last week and I think they had a hard time coming back knowing they will be gone for another 2 weeks starting tomorrow !

I had a record-breaking day today. I'm hoping tomorrow is quieter.

I left teaching to become a nurse. I'd rather handle 5 patients than a classroom full of kids like I used to do.
I am with you on that one Calif! When I first started school nursing I was enchanted and had the idea to get my teachers cert. Well several years down the road, you could not pay me enough. I recently pulled out two KG kids that were absent when I did their class' screenings, and when I returned them to class, twenty something 5 year olds were running around like mad and the teacher, bless her heart, was just as calm as can be. She just kept correcting, redirecting, and kept her cool the whole time. Meanwhile my BP was rising from 5 minutes in the room. It takes a very special person to be a teacher and as much as I complain about some of mine, they have an incredibly hard job and deserve a ton of credit for doing what they do!
Well, the day is almost over and I am about to embark on one of the biggest perks of school nursing...WINTER BREAK! Have a wonderful holiday, everyone!

We have been out for break since last Friday, thank goodness! I work at a high school and kids were getting in fights, coming in our office cussing and yelling. It was crazy, but that is typical behavior that we see right before holidays.
