The worn out topic of staffing.

This is my vent:

My floor is going through a transition phase at the moment. We got a new nurse manager roughly 6 months ago who has been making changes. Some good, Some not so good. A lot of the staff nurses have quit or been getting fired and we are strapped for people at the moment. ARGH it's so frustrating. Please tell me it will get better!

New managers often lead to employees quitting. Change is hard for everyone.

Hope it gets better soon! :)

Think of it this way. If she advertises open positions right now, you'll have at least 30,000 applications to pick through. Your unit can hire the cream of the crop!

Joking aside, managerial changes are universally painful. Stick with it!

I have no clue if it gets better, but I can tell you that you're not alone! Good luck.

Oh honey, you are singin' my song! It happens EVERYWHERE! We always wait for it to get better...sometimes it does, sometimes it is best to brush up your resume.
