I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

I can't find any info on what sort of deal he made, or any comment confirming or denying the arrangement.
It will be hard for Biden or any Western ally to secure the release of wrongly detained citizens as long as we support Ukraine.
I wonder if Trump would join some of his republicans and deny aid to Ukraine and let them lose the war, which they may anyway so perhaps it's futile to keep giving them weapons, and thus gain favor with Putin?

Trump is most definitely pro-Putin in the Ukraine War.
QuoteAlthough Trump can claim a few foreign-policy successes, his overall record is dismal. America's adversaries are more dangerous than they were in 2016, the United States is weaker, sicker, and more divided, relations with many U.S. allies are worse, and any aspirations to moral leadership that Americans might have harbored have been badly tarnished.
Note the same writer analyzed Obama and called him a failure as well.

Here's the De Niro voiced Biden campaign ad airing in PA/NJ/DE area.

Apparently Trump sychophants spoke later and said that this a Biden bringing a washed up actor to interfere in his behalf. They are shameless liars and propagandists. Biden had nothing to do with DeNiro speaking his mind about Trump and he has less to do with Trump's legal woes.
It was fun to hear them talk about celebrity support. Do you suppose DeNiro is as washed up as Roseanne Barr or Ted Nugent?

DeNiro was nominated for 2024 Oscar =/= washed up. As a New Yorker in some of same social circles as Trump, he forcefully voiced what he has observed about Trump over the decades. Similar issues I saw with Trumps handling of his NJ casinos that I visited and stiffing contractors.
👌

I may be wrong about DeNiro. He may have been there as a representative of Biden's campaign.
Another attorney affiliated with Trump humiliated in their own legal system. Somewhere around a dozen attorneys who worked for Trump are not disbarred, sanctioned, and or indicted for helping Trump try to overturn the 2020 election results. I bet they all wish that they could get the same special treatment that Trump gets.
