I confess to back pedaling into Trump territory when I wanted to leave discussions about him in the garbage can. My thread on the read-only break room site has 9,600 replies so I thought I'd bring up a new one.
He's not going away.
Haberman's book is out based on interviews. I won't read it, but the excerpts are interesting. Especially what he says about McConnell, a description that's against the Terms of Service here, but I actually don't disagree with. LOL
Quote“At one point, Trump made a candid admission that was as jarring as it was ultimately unsurprising. ‘The question I get asked more than any other question: “If you had it to do again, would you have done it?”’Trump said of running for president. ‘The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.’ … Reflecting on the meaning of having been president of the United States, his first impulse was not to mention public service, or what he felt he’d accomplished, only that it appeared to be a vehicle for fame, and that many experiences were only worth having if someone else envied them.”

Crusades said:Correct. I'm not racist so I don't know how racism works.
There was systemic racism in history however there is no good example of systemic racism in present time.
Or you subscribe to the far left definition of racism? Where POC cannot be racist because they are lacking in power? LOL.
That's just laughable logic to explain why you use the same defensive language that racists use in discussions of racism.
You ignored and didn't respond to the example provided at your request. It's weird to first state that you don't know how racism works and then state, confidently, that there is no good example of systemic racism in present time. How would you even know when you innocently have no clue how racism even works?
Oh no, are the angry racist feelings of a POC going to hurt you? In the absence of power, why do you care if another person feels one way or another about you? Maybe they say insensitive or callous or mean or degrading things to you? Now attach that racism, with the insensitivity and callousness and meanness, to some actual institutional or political power. Try that thinking exercise to begin to understand how racism works.
It's funny to me that the person who doesn't know how racism works wants to define the word racism for someone else, me specifically.
I think all of your quoted comment is just disingenuous baloney.

Except we interacted in comments where I did just that prior to the debate. Your reading skills aren't great and your memory suffers too.

It's absurd because you said that I "don't know how racism works" absurd indeed.
Yes. You got me. I'm a racist because a racist in the ether used the same word I did at sometime. This is more ridiculous than because a supremist may have voted for Trump so that proves Trump is racist or associated with racist. LOL
I'm wondering if you are able to have a comment that doesn't defame me as young, naive, not a nurse, silly, weird, poor reading skill, cult leader and now poor memory While simultaneously calling me rude.....? Perhaps you pick something up by watching Trump all the time?
I wonder if you are aware you feel the need to do so because it's a good deflection for not providing evidence of your speculations? You provided vague symptoms then repeated them like they were undisputed facts.
Why would you say "POC are angry about racism"? That's the same words racist say.

Your arguments about racism don't make logical sense, they mirror the arguments of known racists. If you don't want to leave the impression of racism don't use the language, logic, and arguments of racists. Don't defend or minimize or ignore racism. Easy peasy.
Perhaps I'm just honest with you about your posts.
If I feel any "need" it is to counter ridiculous partisan nonsense dressed up as something innocent and innocuous.
Asking why POC would be angry about racism seems like a stupid question to me.

Trump was at the club at the time but was unharmed and reportedly in good spirits.
QuoteThe Secret Service said in a statement that it's working in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to investigate "a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. [ET]. The former president is safe."
A spokesman for the sheriff's department said, "we do have a potential suspect" and said it would hold a news conference Sunday afternoon.

Trump's golf properties have hosted spies and shady foreign nationals. Now, they've had an assassin on the grounds.
CNN State of the Union: Dana Bash and JD Vance clash over ongoing Vance's claim Springfield Ohio immigrants eating pets --doubles down. Stated he will "create stories to get media attention"
So this appropriate for a Vice Presidential candidate and U.S. Senator to make-up and spread stories that affect others lives, with potential for harm??

March 2021: Secretary Mayorkas Designates Haiti for Temporary Protected Status for 18 Months
QuoteThis new TPS designation enables Haitian nationals (and individuals without nationality who last resided in Haiti) currently residing in the United States as of May 21, 2021 to file initial applications for TPS, so long as they meet eligibility requirements.
"Haiti is currently experiencing serious security concerns, social unrest, an increase in human rights abuses, crippling poverty, and lack of basic resources, which are exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Secretary Mayorkas. "After careful consideration, we determined that we must do what we can to support Haitian nationals in the United States until conditions in Haiti improve so they may safely return home.”
It is important to note that TPS will apply only to those individuals who are already residing in the United States as of May 21, 2021 and meet all other requirements.
Individuals eligible for TPS under Haiti's new designation must file an application for TPS with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services within the registration period that will begin upon publication of the Federal Register notice. This includes current beneficiaries under Haiti's TPS designation, who will need to file a new application to register for TPS to ensure they do not lose TPS or experience a gap in coverage. Individuals filing for TPS may also request an Employment Authorization Document and travel authorization. All individuals applying for TPS undergo security and background checks as part of determining eligibility.

Why Thousands of Haitians Have Settled in Springfield, Ohio
QuoteBusinesses needed workers, and Haitians, many already authorized to work, heard living costs were low. But the newcomers have strained resources, and that has fueled tension.
Thousands of new jobs had been created there, thanks to a successful effort by the city's leadership and Chamber of Commerce to attract new business to Springfield, which sits between Columbus and Dayton. Once a manufacturing hub, Springfield saw its economy shrink after factories closed and jobs migrated overseas. By about 2015, its population had dwindled to under 60,000, from about 80,000 in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Companies that set up shop, however, confronted a dire labor shortage.
Haitians in Florida, Haiti and South America heard from friends and family about Springfield and its need for workers. They began arriving to take jobs in warehouses, manufacturing and the service sector, and employers urged the new workers to encourage other Haitians to join them....

Wherever there's tension, Trump is willing to stir the pot. Especially if it involves immigrants.

Trump's entire life has been reflective of his NPD. His NPD in adolescence was probably the route of attending a private military academy. My brother attended private military school after he got uninvited from the private religious school after he lost access to local public schools for oppositional defiant disorder. Some of the traits of that disorder are seen in young narcissists. Trump is to defiant and resistant to the authority of rules or the law in his life.
He was always dishonest and fake. He used to call up journalists and pretend to be someone speaking about himself. The tapes are hysterical if you can find them. John Barron was one of the names.
At this point, we can't ignore his mental illness and how destructive and dangerous it is.
