Ok...
I know that we all have our share of FF in our ERs.
I know that we all run into them on the street and they talk to us like we are their best friend...and we probably are. I see more of them than my own family sometimes...how sick is that!??!
But Ithink we have the Queen and her little Prince of FF here in the happy Midwest! They moved here from Texas...so Tom...Look out cuz I'm taking up a collection to sending 'em back!!
Here's my sad tale of woe...
Sorry...I know it's long!
Mommy comes in c/o abd pain, back pain...
Comes in everyday, sometimes twice in a day, since Jan
(And BTW...who moves to Chicagoland in JANUARY!!!!!!!)
Always the same vague c/o...
Sonny boy always with her...he's 24.
After she's done...he checks in...migraine or panic attack...pick your poison
She is either in the ER or her MDs office or calling one of them EVERY DAY!
She's been admitted at least ten times...even calls while she is on the floor.
Not happy with her care...can we come up?
You have GOT to be kidding me!!!!!
They have social services, meals on wheels, family services (counseling), meds delivered to their apt, cab vouchers, chaplain services, all at the cost of the taxpayers. And my God, if they could just take a bath!
They STILL come in!!
HELP...
Oh...
I did I mention her begging behavior for Dilaudid?!!?
Oh my...this woman knows how to negotiate...or is it manipulate?!!? Hmmm
One time they waited 12 hours before checking in (in the waiting room of course...how else do you get a free breakfast...and lunch and dinner!) just waiting for the "right" doc!
Most of them are on board and wont give the dilaudid anymore, hasn't slowed them down yet...

I had to double check your location (we're not in the same statE). We have an ER FF pair. first the son (age 30, still lives at home) comes down with intractable n/v, and then at the ER SUDDENLY MOM does TOO! Every other week it's the same thing, and they were peezed because they aren't allowed to ride in the same ambulance to get to the ER. Well it ain't a bus, people!!

Hey, we have the same family down here in the deep south. Plus many others who carpool to the ER (amazing that four friends all have a migraine at the same time, or maybe it was back pain this time).

nothing surprises me anymore....
Ohhhhh...
I think your carpool may just trump my psycho family!!
:chuckle
I fell better already!
Carpooling to the ER, lmao, hey at least they are economizing!!! LOL
Hey...isn't enough that our hospital is on the list of stops for the PACE bus!
Something about people being able to visit patients and see their docs...
Yea...
We know the truth...
It's so they can come in to the ER in bunches!!!!!

I live in central Illinois and our highway is torn up - so the bus stops a couple of blocks away now!
Course then again, maybe they carpool because the parking for the ER sucks lol.
I'm soooo jealous!

Our ER is totally torn up -- remodeling etc. We had a FF come in w/ 3 friends.... c/o "SEVERE PAIN"!! While waiting, she asked the triage nurse if she would mind giving them all "the tour" of the newly finished section"!!! HMMMM!! Then one of the friends said that they should have coffee and doughnuts available for the folks waiting in the waiting room!! :stone Our TN about died.... she called me and told me that we needed to develop a new positon "ER HOSTESS" for these impromptu parties -- "we could have games, door prizes....." HMMMM! :chuckle
