I have posted before, but I really want to get advise from nurses out there...I took the test 1/19/06 in california. I have been working with my IP and really enjoying it, until now. After I took that test I feel so incompetent, especially since I do not know the results, but I do not think they are going to be what I want to hear. Other nurses say if you pass, your name will be on the BRN website with a license number after 5-6 days or even sooner...I am on day 6 and am getting that horrible feeling that I am one if the unfortunate people who failed..That has not been confirmed yet, but my gut is telling me so. Has anyone had this experience in California..has anyone waited longer than a week to check the BRN website and passed. I hold on to a small glimmer of hope that the BRN is really backed up and has not got a chance to post my license number, but I am a realist and think that the more likely case is that I failed...any enouraging words, or even some good ole' honest opinions about this? I have been an emotional wreck for the last week....

Do not get upset until you see the result. It took 11 days for mine to be posted after I took it. I completely freaked out, especially after many other people had their results posted before mine. Turnsout the state I took boards in (NC) does some sort of criminal background check at the same time, and since I have lived in about 8 states prior to going to NC, it took them forever to get the check...
So it can take a while for a variety of reasons.
Good Luck

OMG. We get results in TWO days in Michigan, and I was just SICK while waiting. It's just plain cruel to keep people hanging for so long. You have my sympathies! Hang in there!

Know the saying, it ain't over until the fat lady sings. Well, the fat lady hasn't sung yet. When I took the NCLEX, I didn't even think about the exam after I took it. I knew how I did, I didn't second guess myself, and I was not going to be worried about the results until the fat lady sang.
The worst that can happen is you don't pass and you see where you need to study up on. All it is, is a letter and number on a peice of paper. It will not tell you how your life is going to turn out. Yes, it may delay you starting a job, but by all means, it does not change who you are. Be confindent in yourself. And most of all, believe in yourself. You will find that you are full of suprises.

If your file is not complete with the BRN, then nothing is going to be posted. Remember that they are not posting results, but posting that you have a license and they cannot do that until your file is complete. CA will let you take the exam without a complete file if you attended school in CA.
