2014 - The Medical City

Published

Hello there, fellow RNs! Have you ever applied for a staff nurse position this year at The Medical City? How was your application, pre-employment, training, and hiring experience? Share us your thoughts!

no, i have not undergone any of the processes yet as i just recently enlisted my name on their logbook.

what does usually happen next after the training period?

Well, you will wait for their text regarding your deployment. it depends on your ranking during the training period.

I texted HR then they ask for my name. Then after that no text from them. So most likely I didn't pass? I just have to accept that it's not meant for me. :( Life goes on, I'll just try other hospitals.

move on. they don't reply to my texts either.. i just can't get over that i didn't passed the IQ evaluation. i dont believe i have below average iq. hahaha im in denial

whew! just finished reading this thread. i have a question though, do you think that they consider the school that you graduated for you to take their exam? Goodluck to you guys! I am hoping that you get in so that you can help some aspirants like me in what to expect during the training. waiting is really the most stressful part but if you give your best in the exam, then just think that it's TMC's loss. :p December is 2 months away, I'm pretty sure that there'll be high demand for new nurses. But still, 2 months is 2 months. Now's the time for some hospital-hopping adventure again. Sorry for quite a long post. I was just overwhelmed that you are really updating us (*lurkers*). :p

hi orangemouth! i dont think they consider the school...but for board rating..well, i guess. im from a not so well-known school from the province. :)

hi @fissure! are you from WVSU? thanks for the reply. You are of great help in answering our queries.

My board rating is like 80+ and I graduated from one of the top nursing school. I even have a backer. Maybe it's just not meant for me. Hays, I really did my best because I want to work there. But, fissure you're right. I have to move on. Haha. Sometimes, what we want for ourselves is not what God wants for us. Hoping for a greater one. Hospital hunting next week! Haha

@pls04 I'm sorry to hear that.. You've exhausted all your resources but still to no avail. You did your best and that's more than enough. God is preparing us for something bigger and better. I've noticed that those JCIA hospitals don't have that much 'backer system' compared to those public institutions. Let's just hope for the best and prepare for the worst in our hospital-hunting. I'm on my second week of waiting..

i noticed that i've been so active with this thread..haha (well, i dont have anything to do...yet)

anyways, wow, pls, that is a (+++) points already. how come they didn't contact you? for me, the IQ eval was my only issue if we really didn't passed. i just cant accept it. but, well, this is how they do it...better luck next time.

actually, orangemouth, backer system is literally everywhere..even in private institutions, it's hard to accept especially when it is very OBVIOUS... I got bitter experiences with that, trust me. ;)

@fissure awwwww.. I was just blinded by my experience wherein my former colleagues, those who have a well-known relative/s (e.g. actors, politicians, doctors) went through the same training that we did in my previous institution... Oh well, I forgot that we're in The Philippines. The Padrino system. bow. Care to share? anyway, that will be out of topic so i'll ask you through PM. :p

backers will let you IN the training, but after that, you're on your own.
