I just saw a thread on the EC EPN board that said the EC faculty HOPE that the 1st of the 3 FCCA's will be available by NOVEMBER! Are you kidding me?? Im waiting on a CPNE date and hope to take it in November. Its not fair that I'm gonna have to wait around for EC to develop these 3 mandatory 2 hour simulated assessment. They have pushed them back so many times. First it was June,September, October and now Hopefully November. It makes me upset that they changed the date for the switch over for the new curriculum last October 2007 but no FCCA's.It would have made sense to get the test developed and then initiate the new date. There are people under the new curriculum that are finished or finishing up this summer. Its gonna be interesting if EC hold them up from graduation because of the FCCA. What do you guys think about this? It makes me mad because I question the validity of the test and wonder if the Kinks will be ironed out before I take it. There is nothing like taking a new test and have something go wrong because of flaws. Oh well just my two cents:madface:

Oh I'm going to give them my opinion on that! No, it's not fair to make some wait, I take the CPNE Aug 1st and I thought it would be bad enough waiting til October. But if I have to wait til November I will put up a stink about it for sure.

I'm HOPING it'll be complete before the first new curriculum students are done with the CPNE. If the FCCA is not done, I'm hoping EC will let them graduate without it. It would be very unfair for EC to hold students up on completing the program because they came up with something that hasn't even been thought through.
For all new curriculum students I suggest if you're done with the CPNE before FCCA is completed....why not appeal, it's our right.:typing

I agree with all of you. I am on a time schedule d/t the Va BON decision so I can't sit around and wait on a test that may not be ready until next year sometime. They are allowing us to apply for the CPNE if we are finished with the Nursing exams and within the general ed requirements. That part is good, but what if the exams are not ready? As the earlier post said HOPE the FIRST will be ready by November and if it is not then what. When will the others be ready?

ec will let you apply and take the cpne before the fcca's if you finish your nursing exams. you just have to take the fcca's after the cpne. but i know two people under the new curriculum that are taking the cpne in august. if they pass, they are stuck in limbo for 3+ months. i hope ec addresses this because i would be upset. i have requested that my cpne be scheduled after nov 14. that way i know i'm ready.
