Hi, what are the areas/units where you can give a lot of education to patients? For instance, you can give education in ER when patients are discharged, but generally what area can you spend time with patients and focus on education so much? Thanks!

A big hospital I worked for had an entire department devoted to pt education. Public health seems education-heavy, or becoming a certified diabetes educator
Thanks!

I would also think peds and maternal newborn, with lactation consultation, doulas, etc. Anything where patients are going home with any kind of devices, so possibly surgical units, etc.? Really, almost anything is ripe for education; it depends on what you would like to teach.
