I failed my first try using Saunders cd+book. Took it again and passed using HURST and LaCharity. I can honestly say, it's the LaCharity book that helped me the most since it's geared toward Prioritization, delegation etc.. I read and answered the questions few weeks before I took the board.
A little background about me: I graduated from foreign school 10 years ago. Came to the U.S with the hopes of becoming an officer in the Armed forces. But since I wasn't a citizen at that time I couldn't commission, so I enlisted instead and forgot about my nursing dream.
Enlisted in the Air Force where I perform Respiratory, Cardiology and Pulmonary procedures. Was chosen to do echocardiogram and loved it for 1 1/2 years, then became a Cardiac Cath Lab/EP technician which I super adore and decided to contacted BON and maybe if I am still able to test which I did. Test the first time with limited core content knowledge and failed, that's why I did Hurst and LaCharity to bring me back to the basic. I am so glad I passed and now I can fulfill my dream of becoming a Cardiac Cath Lab/ EP Nurse.
