Thank you to all the experienced ED RNs

Published

I want to express my thanks and my awe to all you experienced ED nurses out there! I am a new grad who got hired into an ED straight out of nursing school. Right now, I am 2 weeks into my Versant New Grad program, and have had one 12 hour shift. So far I absolutely love it, but recognize that I have a TON to learn! If I can grow to be half as awesome as the nurses I see around me, I will be one happy camper! So thank you, because I'm not sure ED nurses get thanked and appreciated often enough!

RHF, are you in an Oregon Versant program? We have had 2 so far thru my current employer, both men. They both seem pretty sharp and I know the competition for the positions is intense.

Enjoy your position, and as already stated, thank the nurses you work with.

Thanks hoopschick, I absolutely love it so far! No, actually the Versant program is in southern Illinois.

What is the Versant program? I've got one more year and I'm looking at new grad residencies in various specialties, especially the ER.

The Versant Residency program is something several hospitals have chosen to utilize in hiring new grads. Competition is stiff form what I have heard, but it's a nice opportunity to land a position in a specialized area of care.

Here is the basic info from their website.
