Yes, 5th time, you read that correctly. I graduated from an accelerated BSN program in 2013. The first time I failed in 89, the second time I failed in 155...I then thought I needed to do something. I took the Kaplan prep course and did all the prep materials. I got all the suggested grades, but I still failed in 265. I went back over Kaplan materials again...Again, I failed in 265. So now I hire a tutor. She is a full-time nclex-rn tutor and a prior employee of MGH in Boston. Extremely expensive, which is fun since I don't even have a job. We do all of Lacharite and all of Saunders 6th edition as well as the online Saunders/HESI prep course on evolve/Elsevier. I studied my ass off for 2 months. Today I went to the testing center at 2pm expecting to be there for 5-6 hours. I left at 3:30pm. The test shut off at 75 and I just sat there staring at the screen, suspecting a malfunction. I got 21 or 22 SATA, a couple EKG questions, some priority, a bunch of meds....but overall I am dying of suspense over here. I have no idea if I passed or failed. Can anyone out there provide insight? Has anyone passed in 75 questions with a similar number of SATA questions? Does that even matter? I cannot believe it shut off at 75.

Since its your 5th time, you know it really doesn't matter the number of questions you get. Just wait it out, you'll know soon enough.

With 21 or 22 SATA that is a lot. I had a S*** load of those. I would guess you passed as mine shut off at 75 as well...The more SATA the better. Means you are way above the competency line. Congrats RN

I got less than 10 SATA, passed in 75. # of SATA really means nothing

Actually, this is completely untrue, and one of the Great NCLEX Myths out there. SATA is merely an alternative format for the questions used, it is not indicative of passing or failing.
SATA questions are NOT "way above the competency line"; they can (and are) BELOW the passing standard as well. You cannot know simply by seeing SATA on your exam how you are doing. Some people get tons of SATA and fail miserably. Some get barely a few and pass easily.
Just more Myth Busting to do
OP, Good Luck to you.
Stopping at 75 either means you did very well and demonstrated minimum competency in the minimum number of questions, or....you did very poorly and could not demonstrate competency at this time.
Since this is your fifth go-round of this exam, the odds are not in your favor, BUT maybe it's working out in the end. :)
