Texas RN opportunities for new grads

Published

Specializes in OR.

I am planning to move to Texas in September. I am interested in working the 7a-7p shift for pretty much any floor. Since I am a new grad, I am wondering if I can be possibly be hired around Sept? I know all of the internships in Texas start on Jun & Jan, that is why I know for sure I cannot apply for internship.

I have looked into some big hospitals and most of them only have 7p-7a for interns. And I have also looked at the Medical Center of Mckinney. I can't get too much informations from their website. They said they have sign on bonus but they didn't put down if it is only for experience nurses only.

Anyway, can anyone give me some informations about jobs opportunities in Dallas and Collin County?

First of all welcome to Graeter Dallas. Why dont u try Big hospitals eg Baylor,Texas health resourses, southwestern etc

even if you don't get in an internship you should be able to get hired as new grad. Not all hospitals offer internships. Some let you work, then put you thru the portion of the internship that is pertinent to your unit when it rolls around next time. Always ask, and expect, a preceptor. Ask how long you will be in orientation and with a preceptor. Good luck and welcome to Texas !

Why are you coming to Texas?
