Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.

Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?

I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.

If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?

That is exactly what I heard from this girl that is about to graduate from TWU in Dec 09....She is really proud to go to TWU and told me the same thing you said that when you graduate from UT, you will have your BSN degree, but TWU will be BS with a major in nursing, which she said is supposed to be wayyyyyy better. It's something like BS, RN degree instead of just a BSN. I see her next Monday b/c she is one of my classes so I will ask her to find out why it's better and I will let you guys know.

C/S...I didn't know either that we could take Patho while waiting...that would've made everything so much easier but oh well, I'm sure we will all do fine!!

Yeah I've actually heard something like that at TWU's information session. The adviser mentioned that their is a slight difference in the degree offered at TWU which is BS as you said, than UTHSC which is a BSN.And supposbly she said the BS at TWU is better but she didn't really go into detail.I don't really think their is a big difference.

Yeah,I'm going to the Houston campus,and unfortunatly they don't allow prenursing students who arent in the program to take patho early as they allowed in the past.I was really trying hard to take Patho this semester,but I live in Houston.Taking Patho early is is now only allowed at the Dallas campus in person.

I am going to Houston too. I will be moving down from Fort Worth in January... need to start looking for a place pretty soon. I have never been to Houston, so does anyone have any suggestions? I'd love to find a place in the loop or close to the med center!

i need to start looking as well! when i was at the open house in houston a few weeks ago the student affairs lady gave us a list of apartments close to the med center, I can scan it later and post it if anybody wants it. but ANY tips from those familiar with the area would be helpful!

Elizabelle, thanks for looking all that up! Between those two, I'd say Humperdink's, if they have a good patio. There's also a J. Pepe's around there, whose other location I've been to liked well enough. If the day is pretty enough, it probably won't even matter where we are!

OK - I am calling it - let's do J. Pepe's. Its pretty centrally located, and has a patio. I love Mexican food! So... Dallas folks - everyone is welcome! Let's meet up at J.
